Georgia is one of the ancient European nations with an old culture and history situated in the South of Causasus at the crossroads of Europe and Asia The relation ties between Georgia and Romania goes back to the centuries, when for nowdays  well known  Georgian  Antimoz Iverieli  first came in Romania and later this country became the second motherland for him, where he get the Mitropolit of Valachia.

Georgia is a country strongly connected to tradition, here the present co-exists with the past, at the same time as being a modern, democratic state  embodying western values. Georgia`s beauty is now open to any traveller and each year many Romanians discover the Beautiful  country with a rich Cultural Heritage, new sights, sounds , smells, rich vineyards, legendary Georgian hospitality a fantastic architecture of stone wath-towers, carved wooden balconies, richly frescoed churches and Art Nouveau. Georgia`s natural beauty and extraordinary  diversity  makes  a visit truly unique.

According to Greek legend Georgia`sfirst recorded tourist group -  Jason and his Argonauts arrived in Georgia to search the Golden Fleece and found it.

The recent democratic changes, econimic reforms and successful fight against corruption, have made Georgia a tremendous investment opportunity,  particulary within the tourist industry.

In no future Georgia is looking forward to acess to NATO  and become the member of  Europen Union and Romania actively supports Georgia to the way of  integration to the European  Family.  The enlargement of EU has changed its size, geography,  membership and directions so for Georgia is most important  to achive  its identification with the whole Black Sea region.

Romania and Georgia share the same principles , values and ideas- to spread democracy and freedom , to make our region peaceful and thrustworthy ally in the global war against terrorism.

During my tenure as Ambassador  I will spare no effort to develop all   aspects of our bilateral relations.
